About UGEE : The UGEE mode offers admission to dual degree programs, where graduates earn both a B.Tech and a Master of Science by Research. To obtain the Master's degree, students must complete a research thesis. This program prepares them for research-oriented careers and higher studies.
The duration of the programme is 5-years.
Candidates must have passed 12th grade or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry by June 2025. Applicants who completed 12th grade or equivalent in 2021 or earlier are ineligible to apply.
Applicants must take the computer-based UGEE entrance exam conducted by IIIT Hyderabad. The exam lasts three hours and consists of two sections:
Candidates will be filtered based on their SUPR score and ranked according to their REAP score for interview shortlisting. Negative marking of 25% applies in both sections.

IIIT Hyderabad values diversity and aims to enhance it further. This year, through the UGEE mode, the institute targets having at least 25% women among shortlisted candidates for interviews. Additionally, the application fee for women applicants has been reduced to ₹1,500, while for all other applicants, it remains ₹3,000.
Candidates must register online and submit the application form before the deadline to appear for the exam.
IIIT Hyderabad offers a safe and supportive learning environment. Financial aid is available in the form of repayable loans to help students achieve their academic goals.
The SUPR and REAP syllabi are based on 11th and 12th-grade Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry (CBSE & most state boards). However, REAP focuses on critical and creative thinking skills.
