JEE Main 2026 Examination Notification
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for JEE (Main) 2026 for admission to Undergraduate Engineering/Architecture/Planning courses. The exam will be conducted in two sessions.
Exam Dates & Schedule
Session 1
- Registration: 31 October 2025 to 27 November 2025 (up to 9:00 PM)
- Fee payment last date: 27 November 2025 (up to 11:50 PM)
- Exam Dates: Three days before the exam date
- Result Declaration: By February 12, 2025
Session 2
- Registration and schedule to be announced: (Expected January 2026)
- Exam Dates: 2 April to 9 April 2026
Examination Details
The exam will comprise:

- Paper 1 – For B.E./B.Tech courses

- Paper 2 – For B.Arch and B.Planning courses
Both exams are held in an online computer-based format. For Paper 2A (B.Arch), the Drawing section may involve pen-and-paper. (This format is as per previous years; the 2026 Information Bulletin follows the same structure.)
Application Process
Registration:
- Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Click the “Register as New User” button to start your JEE Main 2026 application.” link “CLICK HERE“
- Fill in the online application form with personal, academic and other required details.
- Upload required documents (photo, signature, etc)
- Pay the application fee online.
- After payment, save/print confirmation page for records.
Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification:
- Candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2024 or 2025, or be appearing in Class 12/equivalent in 2026. Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent exam in 2023 or earlier are not eligible for JEE (Main) 2026.
Age Limit:
- No specific age limit has been announced by NTA for JEE Main 2026.
Subject Requirements:
- B.E./B.Tech: Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subjects are mandatory.
- B.Arch: Mathematics is a mandatory subject. Physics and Chemistry are not compulsory for eligibility, but candidates must appear in the Aptitude and Drawing tests as part of the exam.
- For B.Planning: Mathematics is a compulsory subject.
Exam Pattern
Paper 1 – B.E./B.Tech
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
- Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) + Numerical Value Questions
- Duration: 3 hours
- Marking: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect (MCQs only)
Exam Pattern
Paper 2A – B.Arch
- Mode: CBT (except for Drawing, which is pen-and-paper-based)
- Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing
- Duration: 3 hours
Paper 2B – B.Planning
- Mode: CBT for most parts, Drawing section may be pen-and-paper
- Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude, Planning-Based Questions
- Duration: 3 hours
Important Links & Updates
Candidates must update their Aadhaar card/UDID card/category certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) before filling the online application form
Note: A clarification has been issued stating that no onscreen or physical calculator will be allowed during the examination, despite earlier mention in the bulletin.
