WHAT IS A CLAT EXAM?

The CLAT exam, or the Common Law Admission Test, is a centralized entrance test conducted annually by the Consortium of National Law Universities in India. It serves as the primary admission criterion for undergraduate (LL.B.) and graduate (LL.M.) programs offered by participating NLUs across the country. These NLUs are esteemed institutions for legal education, highly sought after by aspiring law students.

Each year, numerous candidates compete vigorously to secure admission through CLAT. While some NLUs may consider scores from other law entrance exams, CLAT remains the predominant test for admission to these institutions.

The CLAT assesses candidates’ aptitude across various categories, including English language proficiency, general knowledge and current affairs, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques. The specific format of the exam may undergo changes periodically to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
